Every recipe is a first draft.

Cooking for 2, or feeding 14?

Every amount updates as you drag. No calculator, no math in your head, no scribbling in the margin of a printout. Fractions stay readable, and Halite switches to metric if you’d rather weigh.

Plan and cook

No. 05 · Plan

A week of dinners that share a shopping list.

Tell Halite what you’ve got, like chicken or a can of beans, and how many nights. It picks dinners that use the same ingredients, so the spinach you buy on Monday gets used all week, and it hands you one short list.

Real MyPlate Kitchen recipes. Item counts come from their ingredient lists, leaving out water, salt, pepper and optional garnishes.

  • Fewer things bought for one meal.It shows how long the list would have been if you’d picked one at a time. Choosing the week from the buttons is plain arithmetic, not AI.
  • Start with nothing saved.Plan from your recipes, from Halite’s collection, or both, so there’s a week to cook on day one. Rather describe it? Type “five dinners, two vegetarian” and AI picks from those same recipes. It never makes one up.
  • Use it up.Leftover ingredients become an extra meal, and a dinner that makes too much becomes tomorrow’s lunch, shown in blue.
  • A list that explains itself.Every item shows which meals need it. What’s in your pantry isn’t counted, and it’s sorted by aisle.
  • Then make the week yours.Drag a dinner to another night, name a day like “Katie’s birthday,” and share a few days as a live link.

No. 07 · Nutrition

Know what’s in it before you cook it.

Calories are one number. Halite estimates 13 from each ingredient list (a guide, not a lab result). Pick from them, like protein per serving, sodium, fiber, or calories per gram of protein (lower means more protein-dense), and the one you pick rides on every recipe card. Halite also estimates 12 common allergens from each ingredient list and can filter your box to the recipes likely to be safe. Always check the labels on your own ingredients.

Questions

Rock read the fine print so you don’t have to.

What is Halite?

Halite is a recipe manager app. It comes with over 2,500 free recipes, saves recipes from any website, video or photo, plans your week with one shopping list, and estimates the calories, protein, carbs, fat, sodium and allergens for every dish.

Is Halite free?

Yes. There’s a free version, and there always will be. During the beta there are no monthly caps. When Halite Pro launches, it raises the monthly caps on a few of the costliest features, like video imports, AI photos and Measure as you go. See pricing.

Can I move my recipes from Mealime, Paprika or another app?

Yes. Halite imports Paprika and Mela exports, photos included, and has a guide for bringing your Mealime recipes. You can also paste any recipe link or cooking video, or snap a photo of a recipe card or cookbook page.

Does Halite work with ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes. Connect Halite to Claude or ChatGPT once, then ask about your recipes, plan the week and add to your shopping list from the chat. You can disconnect any time in Settings.

What devices does Halite work on?

Any phone, tablet or computer with a modern browser: iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux. Install it to your home screen or dock. It syncs within seconds and works offline.

Does Halite flag allergens?

Yes, as an estimate. Halite reads each ingredient list and flags 12 common allergens it finds there: dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, gluten, soy, sesame, mustard and celery. It can also filter your recipes down to the ones likely to be safe for you. Treat the flags as a first check, not a guarantee: always read the labels on your own ingredients, especially when you’re cooking for someone with an allergy.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. Paste any recipe link at halite.cc/clip and get back just the recipe. Ten free clips a day, no account needed.
