Connect Halite Recipes to Claude

The Halite Recipes connector lets Claude work with your recipe library, meal plan, shopping lists, pantry and food log. Ask in plain language and Claude does the work in Halite. Every recipe it touches links back to the app, where you can see it in full.

Before you start

A Halite account. It's free: sign up here.
Claude on the web or in the desktop app. Custom connectors work on any Claude plan; free plans allow one.
A verified email address on your Halite account, for importing recipes from links and for AI features.

Connect in three steps

Open Claude's connector settings

In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Open it in the Claude desktop app or on claude.ai.
Paste the URL

Name it Halite Recipes, paste https://app.halite.cc/api/mcp, and add it.
Sign in and approve

Choose Connect. Halite opens, asks you to sign in if you aren't already, and shows which account you're connecting and that access goes back to claude.ai. Choose Approve and you're returned to Claude, connected.

Find something to cook

“Which of my recipes use lentils?”
“Vegan recipes I've never cooked.”

Change a recipe

“Make the carbonara serve six.”
“Undo that change.”

Save a recipe

“Save this: (paste a link).”
“Write up the curry I just described.”

Plan the week

“Suggest dinners for next week.”
“Move Thursday's dinner to Friday.”

Shop

“Add what I need for Thursday to my list.”
“I've got the eggs and the milk.”

Track what you eat

“Log half the chicken rice for lunch.”
“How much protein have I had today?”

What it can and can't do

It reads and changes your own Halite account only. It has no way to reach anyone else's.
Every recipe edit is saved as a new version, so you can always go back to an earlier one.
It can't delete recipes. What it can remove is limited to meal-plan entries, shopping-list and pantry items, and food-log entries.
Claude shows you each Halite action it wants to take and, depending on your settings in Claude, asks before running it.
Halite receives only what Claude sends to the connector, never your conversation with Claude. The Privacy Policy lists what each action receives and returns.

Disconnect

In Halite, open Settings → Connected apps and choose Disconnect. Claude loses access immediately. You can also remove the connector from Settings → Connectors in Claude.

If something's not working

Claude says the connector needs reconnecting

Open Settings → Connectors in Claude and connect Halite again. Reconnecting replaces the old connection; nothing in your library changes.

It's connected, but Claude can't find any Halite tools

Disconnect and connect again. This almost always means Claude's sign-in to Halite expired.

Importing a link fails

Check that your email address is verified. Halite sends the link when you sign up, and you can send a new one from the app.
