Comparison

Halite vs ReciMe.

ReciMe is a good app: native on iPhone, iPad and Mac, in the share sheet on iPhone, with grocery ordering built in. Here's exactly where it's ahead, where Halite is ahead, and where we honestly don't know because the answer isn't published anywhere we could verify. No hype, just the facts, so you can pick the right tool.

Prices and features checked 11 September 2026, against recime.app and the App Store listing. Full source list below the table.

Worth saying plainly: ReciMe has over 300K App Store ratings at 4.8 stars, a real track record we don't have yet. If native Apple-device apps and grocery ordering matter most to you, it's a good pick. Halite's bet is a browser-based library that follows you to any device with no app store, plus deeper nutrition, allergen, and AI-editing tools, free, with no weekly cap on imports.

Switching from ReciMe

ReciMe only exports to PDF, so there's no clean one-click migration the way there is from Paprika. Here's the honest path.

Bring your library over

  1. Export your PDF. In ReciMe, export your recipes to PDF. It's the only format ReciMe offers.
  2. Screenshot the recipes you care about. Halite can't read a PDF file yet, but its photo importer reads screenshots. Open the PDF, screenshot each recipe, and drop the images into Import. It's best-effort, so give each result a once-over.
  3. Re-clip the rest from the source. For any recipe you remember the original source of, paste that link into Halite and it pulls the recipe straight from the web, usually the cleanest result of all.
Leaving another app too? The switching guide covers Yummly, Samsung Food, and Paprika imports step by step.
